The following area residents were among students to graduate from Morrisville State College in May.

Morrisville State College recently announced those students who were named to the President's List for the Spring 2013 semester. To be named to the President's List, a student must achieve a perfect 4.0 average for the semester and complete at least 12 credit hours.

Area students were recently named to the Dean's List for outstanding academic achievement during the spring 2013 semester at SUNY Canton. "Congratulations to our Dean's List students for the spring 2013 semester! The provost, deans, faculty and I are very proud of the way you applied your best efforts to the semester's coursework," said SUNY Canton Acting President Joseph C. Hoffman. "The work ethic and the enthusiasm for learning you develop here at the College will serve you well in your professional careers after graduation." The State University of New York at Potsdam awarded nearly 900 undergraduate and graduate degrees during its 2013 Commencement ceremonies on May 18 and 19. SUNY Potsdam honored about 750 students who earned baccalaureate degrees, while another 140 graduate students earned their master's at the College's Commencement weekend. The following students have been selected for inclusion on the Dean's List for academic achievement during the spring semester at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. To be eligible for the Dean's List at St. Lawrence University, a student must have completed at least four semester units and have an academic average of 3.6 (based on a perfect 4.0 scale) for the semester.

The following students have been named to the Dean's List at the University of New Hampshire for the spring semester of the 2012-2013 academic year.

The following students were named to the Castleton College Dean's list for the Spring 2013 semester. To qualify for this academic honor, the student must maintain full-time status and a semester grade point average of 3.5.

The following local students were among the 548 students awarded a degree at St. Lawrence University's Commencement ceremony, held May 19 on campus in Canton, New York.

The Champlain College 135th Commencement took place outdoors, under a tent on Edmunds Field in Burlington on Saturday, May 4. In all, 470 undergraduates earned their degrees. Vermont novelist and New York Times Bestseller, Chris Bohjalian delivered the Commencement address to degree candidates. George Chaffee, Vermont's captive insurance association founder, spoke on behalf of the two honorary degrees that were conferred. Bohjalian, received a Doctor of Fine Arts honorary degree; Chaffee, received a Doctor of Commerce honorary degree. Champlain College President David Finney noted a long list of accomplishments that graduating students had already achieved while working, serving and playing at Champlain. "Over 50 percent of the graduating class will be starting jobs within their field of study in the next few weeks," he recognized. Champlain College's 134th Commencement took place at Memorial Auditorium in Burlington on Saturday, May 5. In all, 451 undergraduates and 66 graduate students earned their degrees. Dublin scholar, Dr. Patrick Masterson delivered the Commencement address to degree candidates. Andrea Rogers, founder and former director of the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts, spoke in honor of the three honorary degrees that were conferred. The following students received awards at Moving-Up Day ceremonies held April 28 on campus in Canton, New York. Moving-Up Day celebrates student achievements in academic and co-curricular activities. It is a campus tradition dating from 1869, when it began as "Tree Holiday," to add trees to the campus landscape.
